Sväng New Harmonica Quartet


Sväng New Harmonica Quartet performs original music. Instruments include diatonic, chromatic, bass and chord harmonicas.

Members in the Quartet:

Eero Turkka - chromatic and diatonic harmonicas
He got interested in blues harp as a little boy and ended up studying in Sibelius Academy.

Eero Grundström - chromatic and diatonic harmonicas
He is finalizing his studies in Sibelius Academy. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, composer and true improvisation wizard.

Pasi Leino - bass harmonica
He is the most senior member of the band. He worked several years with a best known Finnish harmonica trio/quartet “Raimo Sirkiä”.

Dr. Jouko Kyhälä - chord harmonica “Harmonetta”, chromatic and diatonic harmonicas
He graduated from Sibelius Academy folk music department in 1999 as the first to major harmonica.

Sväng will release their next album in January 2008. It will contain new and unique pieces composed to harmonica ensemble which can play with over bending (fully chromatic on diatonic harp).
