June 24, 2008 White Mountain Musical Arts: Bach Festival

Mount Washington seen from Bretton Woods The Bach Festival in the Mount Washington Valley (see photo) of New Hampshire had its beginning at Christ Church, Episcopal in North Conway. In 1989 Dr. Clarence Snyder, organist at the Episcopal Church had a vision of establishing an annual musical event in the White Mountains which would feature the great instrumental and vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
At the present time the annual Bach Festival is sponsored by the White Mountain Musical Arts. The 19th Bach Festival will be held August 21 through 24, 2008. Approximately eighty musicians, professional and amateur, will gather for the four-day event to perform the great instrumental and vocal works of the Baroque master.
